Shop Brownells.com

Welcome to the website. Need a machining project done? You've come to the right place. We can do anything from single prototypes to 100 piece short production runs. We're always happy to help out any of the inventors or innovators out there with their projects. If you have any questions, comments or concerns with the website, or would like to talk to us about building something, please feel free to email us at admin@leadtradingpost.com. Thank you and I hope you enjoy the site.

You may be curious as to why our machining site is named "lead trading post". The site was started and built to help people who make their own shot for trapshooting find a source for lead, such as used wheel weights or just scrap lead. Since that was the ONLY use I intended for it, it got the name "lead trading post". But we later got more into machining when we built our first add on rib and from there it's just grown into a site for our machine shop. If you happen to have any questions, feel free to Contact Us.

Well it's time for a new update of the website. Within the next couple of months we plan to switch to a new website domain name as the "Lead Trading Post" is not really relevant to what we do on this website anymore. So keep an eye open for that. I've made a few subtle changes to the website lately, nothing really all that major. Other than that, not really anything else to mention. As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding anything on the website, feel free to email us at admin@leadtradingpost.com.

Haven't updated the website in quite some time, so I decided to finally make a few changes and update the site to change it up a little bit. You may notice that the lead trading forum is no longer active, I've had so many problems with spamming, I've decided to switch to a classified type site as it would be easier to keep clean, and also fit our need a little better. This part of the site is currently under construction, so keep an eye out for another update in the future. I also added our newest product to our growing list. We now make and sell shotgun hull trimmers. Visit the Products portion of the site for more details. I also updated a few pictures of our shop in the Custom Machining portion of the site and added our newest addition to the shop, an 8 inch Logan brand shaper. Also added a new section to the site as well, I intend on posting some pictures of a few of our projects and parts that we make in our shop, this part is currently under construction as well, but I hope to have it up soon. And finally, I changed some colors around, I'd gotten bored of the black, and decided to change it. I may change it again in the near future, depending on how it works out. I hope you enjoy the website and support us in our ever growing product line. As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding anything you see here on the website, please feel free to email us at admin@leadtradingpost.com.

Time for another update for the month. I've added a little more information about our add on ribs, we are no longer making them out of Delrin, but out of a different type of plastic called ABS, which has better machinability and is more rigid. We are also now offering the option of us installing the rib for you. You send the barrel, we make the rib, we install the rib, and ship it back to you. You simply ship it to us and reassemble the gun when you get it back. Turn around time on something like this is normally a week to 2 weeks depending on the work load around the shop. If you have anything you need made, make us your first stop. As always, if you have and questions, comments or concerns, feel free to email us at "admin@leadtradingpost.com".

Update number three for the year. Getting warm enough out to go and shoot a couple of practice rounds and even some registered. Made a few minor changes to the website. Such as we raised the price on the MEC thumbscrews that we make. The reason we raised the price was because we found they weren't worth our time at the old price. That's about the only change so far this month.

We've come up with a new idea that we need some "market research" on. The idea is to sell charge bars to MEC reloaders that have the shot cavity bored out to allow one of our bushings to be used for shot and thus allowing a single charge bar to be used rather than having to buy multiple charge bars that drop different shot weights. If you interested in something like this, please email us and tell us. As always, any questions, comments or concerns about anything, feel free to Email Us.

Second update of the year. Looking forward to the 2009 trapshooting season, how about you? We've added a new product to the list. We are now doing custom delrin add on ribs. If you're interested, just head to our Products page. You may have also noticed I have changed the site slightly, I've removed the "Guns for Sale" as I wasn't getting enough interest, and I also removed the "Donate" page because we aren't exactly "non-profit" anymore. Just changing for the better and I hope you enjoy the things to come. As always, any questions, comments or concerns about anything, feel free to Email Us.

Time for another update. I have made a few changes to the website. First, the "Products" section is now a cart based system rather than the old "Buy Now" system which I was getting complaints about. Second, I added a "Custom Machining" page. We are now doing smaller scale machining, such as 100 piece short-runs or prototypes. If you have any interest, just go to the Custom Machining page. As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns about us, the snap caps or the website, please feel free to Email Us. Thanks.

Time for yet another update. Just to let everybody know, the shipping on our snap caps will be increasing at the beginning of the month by $.50 to $1.50 a pair from the original $1.00. The reason for this increase is because the USPS is increasing their rates. For right now, that is about all that needs to be updated. As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns about us, the snap caps or the website, please feel free to Email Us. Thanks.

12/7/2008

Time to update the website again. You can now buy snap caps in the Products portion of the website. Any information you would like to know about them can be found on that page. As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns, feel free to Email Us. Also if you wish to keep the site up and running, please donate. Thanks!

First time in a while that I've updated the site. Once again, there just hasn't been anything to update on. With winter just around the corner, me and my partner have decided to give shotmaking a rest, and start on some new projects. We are currently working on making our own snap caps, you can see a picture of them below, we are trying to get them out for sale as soon as possible. We are also considering making our own comb spacers, and might just do it on a custom basis (you give us dimensions, and we make it). If you are interested, please feel free to email us. And as always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns about the site or us, email us. Also, if you want to contribute to keeping this site up and running, you may Donate

Haven't been keeping the site up to date every day as I have found nothing to update on. Well today I just got onto the site and started clicking links to verify that they all worked, well good thing I checked becuase in the opening paragraph of this page, the "Trading Post Forum" was linked to the wrong site; it was linked to the free forum I had up and going for a couple of days until I created the current one. Sorry for any confusion, but if you registered with the free forum under the URL: "http://leadtradingpost.forumwww.com", please take the time to register on the forum I now have set up. You may click HERE to do this. Thanks.

Hey! We hit our 1000th visitor, good to see the site is getting used. I going to try to advertise the site a little more and see if we can get more people to join the forums and get more actual trading going on. No point in having the website if it's not going to get used. Thanks.

6/04/2008

I've added a new section to the forum called "Want Ads". You can post anything you want that you think someone that would come to this site would have (anything but wheel weights or shot). If it gets used enough, I will add subforums later, but it's just the want ads for now. Thanks.

UPDATE: Turns out the service I am hosting the website with, had an explosion in one of their data centers, so that would explain the fact that the site was down the past weekend.
Sorry for any inconvenience, but for some reason the website was down for the entire weekend (saturday the 31st and sunday the 1st). Hopefully this isn't an ongoing thing for my hosting service. By the way, I am willing to buy wheel weights for 15-25 cents a pound from anyone in central Iowa. Thanks.

It's good to see that people are using the forum. I'll try to keep up the website with updates every couple of days, I'm normally on trapshooters.com every day or so, so it shouldn't be too much of a burden. I am surprised at how may visits I have had at the site, keep coming, this website is here to be used. Thanks.
